A boy who stands 7ft tall is possibly the tallest teen in the world. According to reports, the schoolboy is only 14 years old.

Xiaoyu is from Leshan City in Sichuan, China. He is now waiting for confirmation from Guinness.

The 14-year-old boy measures 7.25 ft. In centimeters, Xiaoyu measures 221 cm. With such measurements, he is set to become the tallest male teen in the world.

For his world record application, he had to be measured multiple times. The measurements were taken in the morning, in the midday, and the evening. That is to avoid mistakes on the part of the officials.

Three officials witnessed the measuring. One of these officials is Lu Lei who is a World Record certification officer. Another official is Li Song, who is a doctor from Lesha People's Hospital. The last officer is a journalist.

All three of them were present during the measurements.

Special furniture for the tallest teen in the world

One of the officials who had to confirm the boy's height is a journalist of Red Star News. According to this journalist, the teen was very tall. The journalist even shared in a report that the young boy even has special furniture made.

This special furniture includes a desk and chair where he could study.

The "tallest teen's" thoughts

Since Xiaoyu entered school, he started to realize that he is taller than his classmates. He said, "Many students were mistaking me as a fellow from the senior generation."

There were instances when his height bothered him a lot. However, he thought he could do something good out of it. The 14-year-old boy said, "I decided to make it something positive by applying to Guinness to see if I could get the world record."

According to Xaioyu's grandmother, the young boy has been growing so much during the past two years.

The former record holder

According to reports, the former tallest teen in the world is now 18 years old. "At the moment the former holder of the Guinness World Record is over 18 years old," Lei said

Lei also mentioned that the comparison on the measurements are not relevant because the challenger is younger.

The confirmation

After the multiple measurements that the officials did, the certification was sent to London. These records will be audited by the Guinness.

When the certification is confirmed, then Xiaoyu will officially become the new world record holder.
