Dad Died Years Ago but Was Still Able to Pay for Son's First Legal Beer [Viral Tweet]

Viral dad who passed away 6 years ago made sure that he bought his son his first legal beer when he turned 21.

Matt Goodman turned 21 years old earlier this week, but he was not able to share his first legal beer with his dad. Even still, his father now a viral dad, John, who passed away six years ago wanted to make sure that he would be the first one to buy his son his first legal beer.

Dad passed away

Before the dad passed away, the now-viral dad, John, gave Matt's sister, Casey, a $10 bill and told her to keep it said until Matt turned 21. Following her dad's words, Casey, along with their mother, kept the bill hidden for 6 years. But last weekend, they presented Matt with the note the night before he turned 21 years old.

When the family went out for Matt's birthday breakfast the next day, he bought his first legal beer using the $10 bill that his father left for him. Matt chose to buy a Bud Light which turned out to be his dad's favorite.

The viral post

Matt shared his moving story on Twitter that made John, even after years of his passing, a viral dad.

In his tweet, Matt wrote, "almost 6 years ago before my dad passed he gave my sister his $10 bill to give me on my 21st birthday so he could buy me my first beer, cheers pops having this one for you!"

Matt even shared a photo of him drinking his first legal beer bought by his viral dad.

Netizens' reactions

People were moved by the top gesture from Matt's dad.

After his tweet had gone viral, Budweiser decided that the next few rounds would be on them. Eight cases arrived at the Goodman's home a few days later.

Matt also made sure to thank Budweiser through his tweet and said, "Thanks @budweiserusa I think I got my next few beers taken care of!!!"

His tweet was massive, and with his touching story of his now-viral dad, Matt received requests from people to send him money through Venmo for the next round. But instead of doing so, Matt asked them that any extra beer money be sent to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Matt said that he appreciated all of the people asking him for his Venmo. But instead of sending money for his next round, he said that people should feel free to donate any amount to the said cancer institute. Matt revealed that the institute really helped his dad out and he just wanted to give the same help that their family has received in any way that they can.

The first beer

The story that came of Matt's first legal beer is one that deserves to be told, not to mention another classic case of a dad wanting to take care and look out for his son even after he is gone. Surely, that beer was and will ever be Matt's best drink because his father made sure of that.
