Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently released a podcast to help uplift and inspire to mark the end of a difficult year. They made an exclusive deal with Spotify so they could share inspirational stories with everyone.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex formed a production company, Archewell Audio. With this, they made an "exclusive, multi-year deal with Spotify." The couple wants to uplift and entertain audiences by hosting and producing podcasts.

The podcast marks the end of a difficult year

The duo will host a holiday special later this month to end a difficult year. The couple will be featuring inspirational stories for the people to hear. The holiday special audio introduction is now available for listening.

In a statement, Harry and Meghan said that they love podcasting because it reminds everyone to stop for a moment and listen. Other than that, they believe that it helps connect without any distraction.

The Sussex couple also said that there has never been an essential time with the challenges everyone faced this year. The duo noted how people are reminded that they are interconnected through the stories that they hear.

Also partnered with Netflix

According to Scary Mommy, Harry and Meghan made a producing partnership with Netflix after they have moved to California. The couple shared the exciting news that they will be making documentaries, children's programming, feature films, and others with the company.

In January, they decided to step away from their royal duties after the British press showed racism and targeted abuse to Meghan. They gave up on their roles because they received little to no support from the royal family, based on the outlet.

Meghan shared her grief of loss

Meghan shared her miscarriage over the summer a month ago. She made a personal and thoughtful essay for "The New York Times" to empathize with everyone who grieved and suffered the same this year.

Meghan explained that a load of grief usually becomes lighter when they ask and listen to the answer. She noted that sharing the pain is the first step towards one's healing.

Podcast will be released in 2021

The Duke and Duchess plan to cover diverse and underrepresented voices as part of their deal with Spotify. In 2021, their first full podcast series is set to be released. It will be available to 320 million listeners across the globe.

Dawn Ostroff, chief content and advertising business officer of Spotify, stated that the power of Harry and Meghan's voices rests in their status as citizens of the world although they now live in California.

She also noted that the Sussex couple is not only making good use of the extraordinary capacity of podcasts on Spotify but also helps raise underrepresented voices using audio storytelling.

Ostroff also said that they are a proud partner of the couple and are looking forward to users hearing directly from them. The company is also looking to elevate other creators using their global platform.
