He also did not spend the holidays with his dad, choosing to be with his mom instead.

Rare Family Photos of Angelina Jolie Children Revealed

During a photo shoot for British Vogue, the Jolie-Pitt brood made an appearance in rare snaps of the family. In one photo, Jolie was seen tying her son's hair while the shirtless teenager was comfortably sitting on a chair. It was in the same photo that Maddox's massive snake tattoo was revealed, The Sun UK reported.

The photos were taken in Jolie's new home which was a few minutes away from Pitt's house. In one of the photos, the actress was lounging around a picnic table with Zahara, 16 and the twins, Vivienne and Knox both 12 years old. Jolie and Pitt also have two more teenage children, Pax, 17 and Shiloh, 15.

Pitt Jolie Custody Battle Gets Ugly

Jolie is reportedly frustrated with the setbacks in their custody court case, while Pitt is said to be extremely tense. The exes are yet to see eye-to-eye on their custody agreement, though Pitt is said to be willing to resolve the custody case outside of the courtroom.

Meanwhile, the battle of the exes go beyond their custody case as their egos are said to have once again derailed the family's holidays together leaving Shiloh and the twins with Pitt and Maddox spending Christmas with mom, Jolie. Maddox continues to feud with his dad after their publicized physical altercation onboard a private jet.

Effects of Father Son Estranged Relationship

The father-son relationship can have damaging effects where the son, or the children grow up with absent fathers, All 4 Kids reported. They are likely to drop out of school and become addicted to drugs or end up in jail.

Some of the disastrous results of a lack of paternal guidance while growing up can include the feeling of abandonment, struggles with emotions, and bouts of self-loathing. Fatherless children may also have behavioral problems more often which can lead to delinquency and youth crime. Note that 85 percent of youth in prison grow up without their fathers.

When sons are estranged from their fathers, they are also more likely to run away from their home. Sadly, 90 percent of runaway children are fatherless, which can also lead to homelessness. They are also more likely to get abused physically, emotionally, sexually, and even fatal abuse.

As for the health of children, especially sons with absent fathers, their health can also suffer. Fatherless children may have significantly more acute and chronic illness as well as mental health disorders like depression, suicidal thoughts, and anxiety. Their life span is also affected having four years taken from their average life span. Even their relationships in the future can be damaged which can also lead to divorce and having children outside of marriage.
