A California mom died while trying to save a car crash victim. The 26-year-old mother of three was a nurse.

According to reports, the California mom, Juliana Ramos, got out of her car to help a car crash victim near Fresno.

While Ramos was tending to the victim, she was struck by a passing vehicle. This incident caused the fatal death of the California nurse.

The tragic accident

Last Wednesday, February 10, the accident happened when a sedan collided with a tractor-trailer at Highway 99, near Fresno.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, after the crash, another car stopped next to the sedan. The California mom drove this car, and she intended to help the car crash victim.

While Ramos was trying to help the victim who was in the sedan, another SUV came and drove between the sedan and Ramos' car.

The California Highway Patrol says that this caused Ramos to get knocked down to the ground. Due to the impact, it caused fatal injuries to the California mom.

Authorities disclosed that the SUV driver stepped out of his vehicle briefly but sped away from the scene.

The California mom

According to Ramos's family and friends, the 26-year-old mother of three left behind a 4-month-old infant.

For the family of the hero mom, Ramos did not deserve any of these. Her sister, Claudia Sanchez, shared in an interview with a news outlet, "She loved being with her kids. She's a good person; she had a good heart."

Ramos was a nurse and was pursuing further education.

What is more frustrating for the family was that they were supposed to celebrate her 27th birthday that was coming. One of her family members said in an interview with a local news outlet, "Instead of celebrating her birthday, we're planning a funeral."

GoFundMe Campaign

After the California mom's tragic death, her family put up a GoFundMe campaign.

In the campaign, the family shared how helping comes out naturally to the 26-year-old mom, "She was a CNA, and we know her intentions were to help those involved in the accident."

The family is asking for donations for the funeral of Ramos. The goal of the GoFundMe campaign is 25,000 US Dollars. As of writing, more than 550 donors have donated to the campaign. The family has already gathered more than 23,000 US Dollars.

Some of those who donated expressed their condolences and admiration for the hero mom. One donor said, "This lady was clearly kind hearted and the world will miss her. To her family left behind, words and donations won't ever replace the void left in your hearts after losing such a wonderful person. Sorry for your loss."
