The tragic California car crash

According to reports, the father and son duo's vehicle got broadsided by another car. The driver of the other vehicle is 19-year-old.

When the tragic California car crash happened, the dad died on the spot while responders still brought the son to the Rady Children's Hospital. However, the 14-year-old son also died later.

Responders also brought the driver of the other vehicle to the hospital, but he was only treated for minor injuries.

According to the authorities' investigation, there does not seem to be drugs or alcohol at play in the tragic California car crash.

The dynamic father and son duo

Both the father and son are fond of baseball. Steve would even coach Stephen's team.

The dad is very proud of his son, according to the people close to them. Similarly, the son is also proud of his father and considers him as his true role model.

What is more admiring about the dynamic duo is that they are incredibly close.

One of their relatives shared in an interview with NBC San Diego, "They went everywhere together, they did everything together. They would come over pretty frequently, and I would almost never see one of them without the other."

The family's grief

According to Steve's brother, Tom Pirolli, they were in complete shock when they received the news about the father and son's tragic death. He said, "We were having a late dinner, so we probably got a call at about eight, and we were there in 15 minutes."

The loss of the father and son duo is challenging to accept for the family. According to Tom, it is just going to be hard to think of knowing that they will not be around any longer.

School District expresses condolences

According to the spokesperson of Poway Unified School District, Stephen is from their school district. However, authorities did not specify the school where he belongs.
