Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P Release Date & Specs: New Colors Reported, Due Out September 29 & More Here [Where To Buy & Price]

Google's Nexus 5X and 6P are new models that are yet to be formally unveiled. Here are some details you need to know.

According to TechAdvisor, the Nexus 5X will be unveiled along with the new Android Marshmallow on Sept. 29, and will be available for pre-order on Oct. 13, just two weeks later.

The Nexus 5X and 6P will both run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and will have several interesting changes to the operating system, which includes a mobile pay system called "Android Pay," USB type-C support, and what Google calls "more intuitive" app permissions.

According to the tech site, rumor has it that the Nexus 5X is made by tech giant LG, and will be the smaller of the two that will be released. It will have a 5.2-inch full-HD P-OLED screen that's just a little larger than the currently existing Nexus 5. It will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor, and will feature up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM. It has up to 64GB of internal storage, and a 3,180mAh battery.

However, AndroidPit reports that it will sport a Snapdragon 808 processor and 3GB of RAM, and will be powered by a 2,700 mAh battery.

Some speculations regarding the highly-anticipated gadget's specs seems confirmed by Amazon India, except for the RAM which the website said will come in 2 GB with 16 GB of internal storage. This is different from what was rumored, but there will probably be other models available. The Amazon listing has been taken down.

Front-facing speakers, a rear fingerprint scanner, 13- and 4-MP cameras and USB Type-C with QuickCharge 2.0 are also speculated, according to TechAdvisor. The LG Nexus will allegedly offer a metal design rather than plastic (although we have heard it will get an aluminium frame and a plastic rear cover), and measure 146.9x72.9x8/9.8mm.

According to the Android Police, the Huawei-made Nexus 6P, on the other hand, now has four colors: black, white, gold and silver.

Cnet reports that the Huawei Nexus 6P is speculated to have a 5.7-inch qHD screen with a 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution, and a metal body.

It it reported to have more powerful components under its hood: a Snapdragon 820 or 810 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. It will also sport a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera. It will be powered by a 3,200mAh battery.

Cnet predicts that the Nexus 5X will be priced at $400 for the 16GB model and $450 for the 32GB model. For the Nexus 6P, the price is expected to start at $500.
