Responsible drinking
Although Emma's dad helped her daughter stay positive during her quarantine, parents who have younger children should also teach their kids about responsible drinking.
According to KidsHealth from Nemours, parents can protect their kids from child abuse. Here are some of the ways:
- Lead by example. Parents should show their children how to become responsible drinkers.
- Learn more about alcohol so that you can trach your children more effectively.
- Teach your kids a healthier way to manage stress. Children should know that alcohol is not the best way to manage stress or to solve any problem.
Self-quarantine in the US
Although Emma does not have the virus, she chose to self-quarantine.
She just came back from New York and decided to quarantine in her room for weeks.
In the United States, the CDC encourages those who came from an international trip to get tested, stay at home, and self-quarantine for seven days. That is whether they tested positive or negative.
According to the CDC, this measure can reduce the risk of exposing the family, friends, and community to the coronavirus.
