A sperm donor from California with almost 50 biological children feared that his chosen vocation may lose his chance of finding "the one."
He shared that women are not interested in dating him due to his devotion to sperm donation.
Kyle Gordy, 30, said that an estimated 1,000 women had requested his semen, and he has fathered 47 children in different countries, NYPost reports.
A sperm donor's life
Gordy said that he first started donating his swimmers when he was 22 years old as he felt that traditional sperm banks were "cold and clinical." He also wanted to know where his sperm would end up.
He eventually started promoting his free service on Instagram, and soon aspiring mothers began calling him.
After two years of donating, he got more women's attention, contributing more. He said he had a few successful pregnancies, so he started receiving messages on Instagram from women.
He now has 47 children, and ten are on their way. The sperm donor said he feels excellent, having helped many women start their families.
He gets joy from what he does, he says. He meets his children and regularly receives their pictures. He feels great knowing that they are doing well.
At first, he said he did not think that women would be interested as many had money and could quickly go to any sperm bank. Most women would ask for sperm from him because they wanted the option to see him one day.
Although based in the US, Gordy's Instagram account says he is currently on a sperm donation world tour", Mirror says.
He also had an experience donating his sperm "naturally." He recalled that at first, she was nervous, but after talking for a bit, she told him how happy she was. They realized they had a lot in common and talked about staying in contact.
Finding love
He said that despite women vying for his sperm, the surrogate dad said he had trouble finding that special someone.
He admits that he had a few women interested in possible relationships. It does not go anywhere. Gordy admits he just had an average dating life even before his career. He said he has come to terms with his decision to donate sperm, but he realized that dating might never be the same for him after his life-changing decision.
However, when the special lady comes along, he would be happy to indulge in something more. Settling down and starting a family of his own might be possible, but it would take a special someone to accept him for who he is. He said he would discuss his sperm donating vocation early in the relationship.
He said he keeps his swimmers viable by leading a healthy lifestyle: going organic, consuming 18 different herbs and supplements a day, and cutting his caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs, as per TMZ.
Meanwhile, authorities warn against accessing sperm from unlicensed donors as it increases the medical and legal risks as there are no proper consents in place.
