A man described as a white supremacist and an extreme right-wing advocate has threatened to "put down" Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Christopher Gibbons, 38, has landed himself in court for declaring in his podcast show, "Black Wolf Radio," that Archie is an "abomination" who should not exist. He also alluded that the Duke of Sussex committed treason for marrying a woman of mixed race. Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, is Caucasian while her mother, Doria Ragland, is African-American. Gibbons and his co-host, Tyrone Patten-Walsh, 34, declared that they do not recognize people of mixed races.
Gibbons and Patten-Walsh have denied that they encouraged terrorism on their show. They also denied that their videos in "The Radicalisation Library," which were uploaded online, were resources for disseminating information about terrorism, according to Daily Mirror.
Abusing Freedom of Speech
Prosecutor Anne Whyte QC said that the accused tried to pass off their extremist views as a "legitimate exercise of their freedom of speech." However, the lawyer pointed out that Gibbons and Patten-Walsh, who are both based in London, used a kind of language in their podcast show that incited hate among their listeners, who are also haters of mixed-race individuals.
The jury was made to listen to at least 23 podcasts, which were also posted online. Aside from their hateful comments against Archie and his parents, Gibbons and Patten-Walsh also made disparaging remarks against the victims of the 2017 Manchester bombing at the concert of Ariana Grande.
The trial will still continue into the week but it comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a photo of their second child, Lilibet Diana, who celebrated her first birthday in private at Windsor Castle. Lilibet, who is rarely seen in public, was photographed by her mother's friend, Misan Harriman, who posted the image on her social media.
It was Lilibet's first time to visit London since the Sussexes have uprooted their lives to California, where Meghan was born and raised, in 2020. Meanwhile, the public did not get any chance to see Lilibet and Archie when the British Royal Family and the United Kingdom celebrated Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee over the course of four days. Harry and Meghan were low-key during the celebrations.
Queen Elizabeth Turns Down Photo With Lili
Sources told Daily Record that Harry and Meghan asked the Queen for a private photo with their daughter. However, Her Majesty allegedly told the couple there was no chance because Queen Elizabeth didn't want the images leaked to the U.S. press.
Royal commentator Dan Wootton confirmed that Harry and Meghan were booed by the public waiting to see the other royals during the Jubilee celebrations. Wootton said that the people see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as a "couple of frauds."
