A mom from Russia who dreams of having 105 children has admitted that she is finding life hard taking care of her 22 kids following the arrest of her Turkish millionaire husband, according to Newsweek.
Cristina Ozturk lived with her hotel owner husband Galip Ozturk in the coastal city of Batumi in Georgia before his arrest during a special forces operation on May 31. According to Russian Finance Ministry spokeswoman Nato Natroshvil, Galip was arrested for money laundering and falsifying documents.
The 57-year-old Turkish businessman, who owns the bus company Metro Turizm, fled his home country of Turkey back in 2018 after an appeals court upheld his life sentence for ordering the 1996 murder of a man named Kuvvet Koseoglu.
The couple spent more than $166,000 on surrogate moms
According to reports, Galip escaped to Georgia, where it is legal to use surrogate mothers. He met Cristina in that country, a former stripper on her first trip outside of Russia.
The couple revealed in 2021 how they splashed out around the equivalent of more than $166,000 on surrogate mothers to quickly amass a whopping 20 babies in one year. They soon added two more to their offspring and spoke of how they hoped to one day reach 105 children, according to the Mirror.
Cristina has admitted, however, following her husband's arrest, that she is finding life hard taking care of her huge family. The 24-year-old mom said that the feeling of loneliness does not ever leave her, even with such a large number of close people around her.
The young mother added, "Now it is more difficult than ever; I can't stand the silence, I can't stand his absence, I can't sleep, and I wake up all alone. I can't see his empty workplace... I can't see his smile; I can't hear his voice, I can't feel his embrace."
Building huge family led to Galip's arrest
News that the wealthy businessman and the hotel owner was planning to start a massive family with his baby-loving wife was published in February last year around the world. Turkish officials discovered after the news went viral that this was the same man who had fled the country upon hearing that the Supreme Court had confirmed a life sentence on the morning of September 28, 1996, for the murder of Kuvvet Koseoglu.
The said case resulted in several arrests, and during the trial, it was revealed that the murder victim, who had been hiding in Beyoglu in Istanbul, Turkey, was shot dead by hitman Kudret Okumus, who Galip hired.
The court heard during the trial that the motive for the killing was a blood feud between the two men, according to the Daily Record. A blood feud is where death is required to ensure honor is kept by the killer or the murderer's family. It was not revealed what the blood feud between Ozturk and Koseoglu was about, but the former was sentenced to life in prison.
