A pregnant mom from Taunton, Massachusetts, was shocked when she went for an ultrasound examination in February. Ashley Ness told "Good Morning America" that when the sonographer started the scan, she looked at the screen and wrote A, B.
Ness stopped and looked at her sonographer, asking her, "Wait, I'm having twins?" She did not get a direct answer from her, as she only replied that she did not know and that she would step out for a minute.
The sonographer later explained that she was also mystified by what she saw on the screen. She told Ness that she had to leave the examination room to search online and check if what she saw on the ultrasound was legitimate.
Sonographer and Ness both stunned by the scan
Ness said the sonographer relayed the huge surprise when she started the scan back up. She told Ness she was having four kids, much to her shock. Ness could not believe what she had just heard and had to ask her, "I'm sorry. What?" The sonographer confirmed the baby news again, saying, "Yeah, there's four of them in there," according to Boston.com.
Ness and her 47-year-old boyfriend Val are now expecting not one or two kids but four babies - two boys and two girls - who will join their growing party of six. The couple is already parents to four kids ranging in age from 7 to 24 years old, and Ness said she is excited about her growing family.
Ness said that she had a tough time conceiving, and she also suffered miscarriages in the past. The 35-year-old mom added that it is so amazing to be blessed with something so big.
Ness talked about the challenges she faced in the past, saying that she previously miscarried four times, and on top of that, her grandmother passed away. Ness said that when she conceived, it was right before her grandmother died, and she felt like the four babies were almost like a gift from her, like sending back the losses she had.

Ness has already chosen the names for her new babies
Ness got help from her daughter Chanel in coming up with names for the four newest additions to the family. She said that she had always wanted to keep the "Ch" in their names because all her parents' grandkids have names that start with "Ch."
Ness will name her girls Chesley and Chatham, while the boys will be called Chance and Cheston.
Ness is due on October 18, but she said the doctors advised her to deliver the babies early because her pregnancy is considered high-risk. They will have her give birth between 30-32 weeks, according to Mass Live. That will be between August 9 to August 23.
