A Florida teacher, who twerked in front of her students at a Christian school event, has landed in jail for engaging in lewd conduct and was reported by a teen student to the authorities.
Julie Kinsey Hoover, 39, was arrested on Tuesday, September 6, based on complaints about an incident at the Point of Grace Christian School in Perry in April 2022. She has paid a bond for her temporary freedom.
A 17-year-old student has accused Hoover of pressuring him to drink alcohol by putting a straw in his mouth. According to WCTV, a school staff brought the alcohol to the high school event because they had planned on drinking after the kids left, but Hoover brought the boy to the back of the stage and tried to give the alcohol.
The teacher was latching onto the teenager the whole night and admitted his discomfort to the authorities. Two people also corroborated the claims of lewd conduct, who said they tried to get in between Hoover and the student a few times to make the teacher stop harassing the teenager.

Florida teacher also solicited sex from another student
In a separate incident, Hoover was arrested in June for sending lewd text messages and soliciting sex from another high school senior. The mother reported the teacher to the sheriff after she learned that Hoover was hoping to sneak the student into her house while her husband was away for work.
According to Today, Hoover stayed in jail for at least a night because of this incident. Investigators discovered that the teacher and the teenager started exchanging text messages in March 2022.
Following the latest arrest, Point of Grace Christian School confirmed that Hoover was a former teacher. The school has been cooperating with the investigation and thus cannot provide more details about the incidents to the press out of "respect for the judicial process."
Hoover faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor, and soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct against students by an authority figure, a felony.
A trio of Florida teachers made sexual advances on students
Meanwhile, three other teachers were charged for making sexual advances in class in separate incidents in Florida. Rafael Guzman, 37, Andy Barbosa-Morrell, 40, and Carlos Aguirre Rendon, 29, have been in legal hot water for preying on minors, per People.
Guzman admitted to the sex act but has not pleaded guilty to the charges. He is currently out on a $50,000 bond but has been banned from contacting minors or returning to campus.
Barbosa-Morrell was accused of attempting to engage with a student, but his lawyer said these were absurd allegations. Other students corroborated the victim's claims.
On the other hand, Rendon was charged for his lascivious conduct against a 15-year-old student. The girl's parents expressed concern after seeing the teacher with his arm on their daughter at a park. Investigations revealed that the teacher was pursuing a relationship with the teenage girl.
