The Hollywood actress proudly shares that her kids are her best anti-aging secret since they make sure she can go to bed early and give her enough time to doze off.
Zoe Saldana, the "Avatar" and "Guardians of Galaxy" superstar and mom of three, told People that her children are responsible for her looking young. This was after it was noted that she looks almost the same in her latest Netflix series, "From Scratch," as in her film "Center Stage," nearly two decades ago.
The actress teased that it's like Benjamin Button, and she will take it as a compliment.
"I think having children keeps me out of trouble a lot. I go to bed early. I eat better. I sleep longer sometimes. I'm back to sleeping. I was having a lot of problems with my sleep. Whereas right before I had them, I was very much of the policy of work hard, play hard. And I loved my life like that. But I feel like having children happened at the right time for me because in your mid-thirties to late thirties, early forties, that's when you go to bed thinking that you're one thing, and you wake up feeling like something else," Saldana explained.
Proud Mama of 3 boys
Saldana and her husband Marco Perego are parenting three boys-twin boys Cy Aridio and Bowie Ezio, 7, and Zen Anton Hilario, 5.
She declared that as a mommy of boys, she is having a wonderful time since she gets to witness and nurture young boys before they turn into men. She believes that this is one of the most vital tasks of mothers.
She and her husband are known to raise their kids in a "gender-fluid environment," teaching their boys not to conform to gender stereotypes. She revealed that terms like "boys will be boys"do not exist in their home.
She further shared that the whole patriarchy and matriarchy culture are "ludicrous," and her husband agrees that this kind of culture is unhealthy for their children because it gives them a distorted and limited view of what gender roles are supposed to be.
'I would still choose you'
On Mother's Day, the actress took to Instagram and honored her four boys.
In a tribute to her family, she posted photos of her sons jumping on the pool and doing other stuff, her sons putting paints on her face, and of the entire family, and captioned them with the sweetest message.
She expressed that they are her reason, destiny, and mirrors, and on the day that's supposedly for her, she gave them thanks instead. She even thanks them for all the sleepless nights, all her guilt, painful growth, salty tears, and obsession with being responsible for them.
She ended it by saying that they are her favorite people, and if her life would need a reset and time were to stop, she would not think twice about still choosing each and every one of them "a million times over." She would choose all four of them again and again.
