"King Kong" actress Naomi Watts has earned her stripes and has become a successful actress starring in many hit shows and movies, ranging from the 2005 movie "King Kong" to "The Impossible." The actress' impressive work has earned her two Academy Awards nominations, among other accolades. According to Netflix, the series in which Watts stars is currently number 1 in the United States.

The 54-year-old actress became the founder and Chief Creative Officer of the new menopause beauty and wellness brand, "Stripes," and she is also the founder of clean beauty retailer Onda Beauty. She hopes to discuss taboo topics such as perimenopause and menopause, adding that many considered such terms dirty words.

The "Adore" actress rejects the notion that menopause marks the end of one's life. Many consider it the end of one's reproductive life as women are treated as invisible or irrelevant. She wanted to remind everyone, particularly those unfamiliar with menopause, that such a phase is only a beginning of a new point, noting that every woman will experience menopause at some point in their life.

Inspired by her own experience with perimenopause

The "Mulholland Drive" actress' desire to found her own experience inspired the company with perimenopause which she said started in her mid-30s as she and then-partner Liev Schreiber were trying to conceive. It began when her doctor told her that her hormones were constantly changing at quite an extreme level, which immediately put her into a terrible panic.

After trying multiple interventions, fortunately, she got pregnant first with Sasha, 15, and later with Kai, 13. After the second baby, she started feeling severe symptoms, adding that she talked to her close friends about it but wasn't met with a huge reception thinking they were not there yet. She revealed that one of the symptoms she experienced was dry skin, as it was something she observed every single day and considered a challenge she faced during that stage.

"The Ring" actress said that what she only knew about perimenopause and menopause was night sweats and hot flashes. She hadn't heard about things like migraines or skin issues. "The Painted Veil" star told Today that 90 percent of women experience painful sex right after menopause, and from then, it was considered the most taboo subject area.

Learning to embrace both aging and menopause

The "Insurgent" actress reminds everyone, specifically women, to feel proud as menopause is a cumulative experience adding that there are many things women experience and they've been through ups and downs but eventually recover, become wiser, and stronger; thus, women must learn to embrace perimenopause and menopause that comes along with aging.

The "Shut In" actress marks such a period of life as the better half while learning to accept struggles during aging and also realizing that it must be viewed from a positive light, specifically in an industry that is so much focused on beauty, refusing to accept that everyone is aging. It comes with a lot of things and so many changes.

Daily Mail says the "Penguin Bloom" star shares kids with former partner Schreiber. Both continue to co-parent together and previously celebrated their youngest child's graduation from middle school.
