A boy who was mysteriously found dead in a suitcase in rural Indiana has finally been identified after six months, and cops revealed they have issued an arrest warrant for his mom for murder.

Indiana State Police announced at a news conference on Wednesday, October 26, that the little boy was identified as Cairo Jordan, ABC News reported. The Atlanta native was five years old at the time of his death and he would have turned six on October 24, according to police.

Authorities said that the suitcase containing the child's remains, which featured a Las Vegas design, was found on an isolated, dead-end road in Washington County on April 16.

No signs of physical trauma in Cairo's autopsy

Police said that the boy's autopsy did not show signs of physical trauma and Cairo's cause of death was ruled an electrolyte imbalance that was likely caused by a viral gastroenteritis. Cops added that the kid's toxicology report was negative.

Indiana State Police identified two suspects in connection with Cairo's death on Wednesday. They are Cairo's mom, 37-year-old Dejaune Anderson of Atlanta; and 40-year-old Dawn Coleman of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Police said that Anderson is wanted for murder, obstruction of justice, and neglect of a dependent resulting in death. Coleman was arrested on October 19 in San Francisco for obstruction of justice as well as neglect of a dependent that resulted in death.

Cairo's mom remains at large, though, with Anderson's last known location believed to be in Los Angeles. Police added that she is known to travel. She has recently been to San Diego, Las Vegas, Houston and San Francisco, according to the Daily Beast.

Anderson was arrested back in March for robbery

Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls told reporters that this whole case is about justice for Cairo and that is the only thing this case has ever been about. He said that Cairo's case will be handled by the Washington County Prosecutor's Office.

Anderson's mugshot from Louisville Metro Corrections was shown during Wednesday's press conference as a reference for anyone who may see the suspect in public. She had been arrested less than a month before Cairo's death in Louisville on second-degree robbery charges.

According to her arrest citation, Anderson was accused of attempting to steal from Von Maur on March 31 worth more than $1,500 of merchandise. She was also accused of hitting a security guard in the face once she was confronted about the robbery.

Anderson was released on her own recognizance on April 11. Her son's body was then found five days later in the Indiana woods. Investigators believe that during the time of Anderson's incarceration, Coleman was in custody of the victim.

Cops obtained search warrants for the two women's Facebook accounts and they found several posts that referred to Cairo as a demon ahead of his death, according to the Louisville Courier Journal.
