Spotted: The expecting Gossip Girl alum attended the American Cinematheque Awards to pay tribute to her husband, and she did it in style, as always.
Blake Lively, wife of Deadpool actor Ryan Reynold and also pregnant with their fourth child, took the stage in a gorgeous Ralph Lauren dress Thursday at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles to honor his husband, who was receiving the 36th American Cinematheque Award, E!News reported.
The actress and fashion icon tugged hearts as she gave the sweetest, moving speech.
Aside from praising her husband's heart, philanthropy, humor, integrity, unmatched work ethic and grace, Lively emphasized how checking in at home has always been significant, and a priority to the actor.
'He races home'
Lively expressed that coming home was essential to Reynolds as it keeps him grounded, sane, and being who he really is.
"And now I am his home and our girls are his home. And just like that 19 year old boy, he races home. Whether it's from across the globe or a meeting across the street, his is hardwired to get home... Daddy always comes home," the actress heartwarmingly said as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.
She jokingly added that if the actor comes home not in his current movie wardrobe, the family will be very concerned. They have now been enjoying how Reynolds comes home - usually soaked in mud,or with a fake blood, and sometimes in real blood. He comes home in prosthetic scars, in his superhero suits, or in a clown make up. Whichever and whatever, the husband and father comes home awalys.
The couple shares daughters James,Inez, and Betty, who are respectively 7, 6, and 3 years old.
Ryan showed how he was such a proud dad during the awards show through his wrist that was covered with beaded bracelets created by his girls. One bracelet was meant to read "Dad" but was misspelled into "DVD." The actor joked that he thinks it is "weirdly a double entendre" for his job 12 years ago.
Family is excited for baby number 4
When asked on the red carpet before heading inside the event's venue how the girls are feeling about their upcoming sibling, Ryan revealed that the girls are in, and that they love it, She Knows shared.
The soon-to-be sisters aren't the only ones excited though. Speaking for himself and his wife, Ryan added that they are very excited as well, and like it so much that their family is expanding, so much that they are now pregnant for the fourth time.
Whether having baby number 4 will be "easier" for them, the actor, who is said to receive the People's Icon Award this coming December 6, answered a yes and a no.
He shared that for sure the thing that they already know and learned from having 3 kids will help them a lot to "get through things a little quicker." Yet, he also knows that anything can happen, especially that they still haven't found out the gender of their baby yet. Having a boy would mean new experiences and new learnings.
