The country artist and his wife welcomed a baby boy days before Christmas. Drew Baldridge and Katherine Kraus are officially parents, People reported.
A representative of the couple confirmed exclusively to the magazine that they had just given birth to a baby, whom they named Lyric Lee.
Lyric Lee Baldridge was born December 19, a week after his due date, the couple revealed, and during Christmas week.
"We are overwhelmed with love and excitement getting to finally meet our baby boy. He's the best gift for Christmas that we could ever ask for!" the parents expressed in a statement they gave to People.
The name 'Lyric' is special
Baby Lyric was born in Nashville, and his parents shared that he weighed 7 pounds and 8 ounces and measured 19 inches at birth.
In an Instagram post, the new father posted their first-ever family picture with his wife lying on the hospital bed hugging their baby boy. He informed fans and the public that both were healthy.
Baldridge further revealed that his baby's name is significant to him as a singer. He admitted that the name "Lyric" has been in his mind for years.
He stated that "Lyric" is a "perfect fit," with his dad being a songwriter and musician.
On the other hand, the baby's middle name, "Lee," is in honor of his wife's father, whose middle name is also Lee.
Perfect timing
It was such a surprising yet touching moment when Baby Lyric arrived just after the release of Baldridge's new song entitled "The Best Gift for Christmas."
In his most recent Tiktok post, the singer said that the new song is all about expecting their baby boy in time for Christmas. It also expresses how they do not have anything more to ask for the holiday.
Baldridge also shared how his fans have supported him ever since, and he cannot wait to share the next beautiful chapter of his life with them - fatherhood.
He also released his sophomore album Country Born, which he is proud of.
The "Beach Ain't One" singer and his wife found out the exciting news that they were pregnant last March 31, which they have confirmed with People magazine.
They admitted that getting pregnant was "a little unexpected."
The singer narrated that his wife Katie took the pregnancy test the night before he was about to go on tour. She was not really expecting to get a positive result, and when she did, his wife screamed his name from upstairs and went downstairs to show him the test. Baldridge recalled that "both about fell over with shock and excitement."
The couple learned they were having a baby boy when a blue balloon emerged from a box on the Grand Ole Opry stage last June.
