The expecting mother runs to social media to ask about a very important subject - bikini waxing while pregnant.

Chrissy Teigen, who is pregnant with their third child with her husband, singer-musician John Legend, is preparing for the upcoming arrival of their new baby, and preparation might just include one more self-care item on her to-do list.

However, she will only do it after obtaining thoughts and advice from her social media followers whom she trusts.

The 37-year-old cookbook author took to Twitter Wednesday to ask her followers how painful it would be for a pregnant woman to have a bikini wax.

She seems to be having doubts about making that potential salon appointment. "I know it's definitely more painful pregnant but is waxing down there while pregnant a litttttle bit worse or a lot a lot worse? I can do a little bit worse," she expressed.

Hilarious exchanges of comments

The tweet has already garnered 2.4 million views and loads of replies.

Personalities like founder and CEO of Sway Group, Danielle Wiley; economist professor Emily Oster; reporter Lorena O'Neil; and NY state assemblywoman Taylor Darling replied and honestly answered that bikini wax is a lot, lot worse when pregnant.

There were also hilarious exchanges of comments between followers and Teigen, showing the latter's "trademark razor-sharp," witty replies, People reported.

Chad Richardson commented that he could not unsee what Teigen tweeted, and the model fired back, saying just to imagine what the "poor [aesthetician]" needs to see.

Another commenter asked why she would even bother doing the bikini wax, and Teigen explained that she wanted to do the doctors "a solid."

One instructed her to trim it "down there," and it will be all good, but the TV personality replied that she could not see "down there."

What do experts say?

According to What To Expect, pregnancy hormones result in thicker hair growing even in unexpected and unwanted places of the body. Hair removal methods should be avoided, yet there are some safe ways to be hair-free. Waxing is one of them.

However, since pregnant women have super sensitive skin due to their increased blood flow, waxing is more painful than usual, especially in the pelvic area. Thus, a Brazilian or bikini wax will hurt a lot during pregnancy.

So, if you are a brave pregnant woman willing to embrace the additional pain, experts suggest you do it in a professional salon instead of doing it at home by yourself.

Make sure to ask the esthetician for a test wax on a small area of your pregnant skin before doing the whole thing to see how it will react to waxing. Also, request for them to use a soothing antiseptic lotion before and after the wax session for less or zero irritation and redness and to protect you from infection.
