The Yorkshire shepherdess bravely admitted that it has been tough after the split from her husband and now that they are co-parenting nine children.
After being married for 22 long years with husband Clive and mutually deciding to separate last year, Amanda Owen is "just getting on with it" - prioritizing her children while she co-parents with Clive and moving on with a new solo series.
The Yorkshire Farm star stated that only two simple facts need to be understood regarding their separation. It had come to a point in their marriage that Clive thought she was not "brilliant" anymore and that she felt the same about her husband.
"It's a fact, isn't it? But, you know what, that's not unique, it's just how things are, pressures, all the rest of it. But we have nine kids, with associated friends, girlfriends, and we just have to get on with it," Owen proclaimed in her interview with Radio Times.
Co-parenting as a 'buzzword'
The 48-year-old shepherdess jokingly described co-parenting as just a "buzzword," which for the family means she and her ex-husband taking turns to "shout at the kids." And then seriously declaring how she does not have any regrets about having a big family.
During their marriage, the Our Yorkshire Farm stars welcomed nine kids - Raven, 21; Reuben, 19; Miles, 16; Edith, 14; Violet, 12; Sidney, 11; Annas, nine; Clemmy, seven; and Nancy, six.
Owen and Clive met in 1995. She was still 21 then, while Clive was 42. However, despite that age gap, the two hit it off. Clive, a divorced father of two, stated that he was "taken with her" immediately when the shepherdess stepped into the Ravenseat Farm. On the other hand, Owen described their relationship process as a "slow burn," Hello Magazine reported.
They married in 2000 and admitted to marriage "stresses and strains" in November of 2021.
June of the following year, the two officially announced their separation on Owen's Instagram Stories, stating that they both believe it is the right decision for their family's future. She also said that their number one priority would be the well-being and happiness of their kids as they co-parent together.
A new season, a new series
After the separation, the Yorkshire shepherdess was also moving on with her career as she began filming her solo series entitled "Amanda Owen's Farming Lives," a new More4 documentary.
According to Yorkshire Live, her time away for filming needed to be carefully negotiated with her priority time still with the kids.
The filming was done in small sections with a three-day rule. The production has a maximum of three days to film and three days to be spent at home with the kids.
Owen was seen visiting other working farms throughout the U.K., learning how they handle the crisis's challenges from the cost of living and being enamored by the innovative methods that farmers have built and crafted.
Even with the TV series and range of published farming books, she still does not consider herself a "celebrity farmer," though she admitted how her side projects are earning her more income than the actual farming.
