The television host and her husband are expecting their first baby after going through a decade-long fertility journey.

Maria Menounos guested at Kelly and Ryan Live, where she teared up as she revealed that she would finally be a mother.

"Just after a decade of trying everything, we are so grateful to the beautiful family helping us conceive our baby. Keven, my dad and I are all beyond excited for this soul to come into our lives. What a blessing," the mom-to-be exclusively shared with People.

The American journalist also shared a beautiful, emotional video where she watched an ultrasound video with her father, Constantinos, beside her. She was also seen introducing the baby to her father and telling the baby in her womb, "I love you."

Frustrated over the 10-year journey

Last February, Menounos and her husband, Keven Undergaro, opened up about their difficult fertility journey, with the TV host expressing her frustration with the lengthy process.

They have been doing in vitro fertilization treatments since 2012 with different services and different people, and she just could not fathom why it was taking them so long to be able to start a family.

In 2018, the couple began considering surrogacy after getting advice from her friend Kim Kardashian, who welcomed her first child via surrogacy in January 2018 and then her second son in May.

However, in 2021, they were heartbroken to discover that their first surrogate was not a medical match after a mock cycle. Nevertheless, they were fortunate to go through the mock cycle as they were able to save the only two good embryos they had. If they had not done it, they would have lost their only chances, People reported.

The failed attempts took an emotional toll on the couple individually and in the marriage.

She almost lost hope

They found another surrogate last year, yet she was clear to their doctors that if it still would not work this time, she was "done." She did not want to go through the process again.

This was supposed to be the couple's last straw. They had already accepted that if surrogacy was not successful, they were not meant to be parents.

But they were meant to be parents!

In her Instagram post yesterday, she shared how overjoyed they were that they were finally parents. She thanked people and friends who helped them on their journey, like Kim Kardashian, Zoe Saldana, and Family Match Consulting.

She also gave a shout-out to their fertility doctor, Dr. Wendy Chang.

Lastly, she thanked her mom, whom they lost in May 2021 to cancer. The TV host expressed how she could not believe she was celebrating what they had both been praying for without her, yet she knew that her mother made it happen "on the other side," and that she was going to be with her every step of her mommy journey.
