Kallie Wright, mom of 3-year-old Levi Wright, who passed away after driving his toy tractor into a creek in southern Utah, shared details about the deadly circumstances. She elucidated on social media that it's difficult to grasp how it happened without seeing their property.
Kallie Wright Encountered Severe Online Criticism
Levi, son of rodeo star Spencer Wright, passed away after being on life support for 12 days following the May 21 accident. Kallie Wright has faced harsh criticism online, according to family spokesperson Mindy Sue Clark.
In a recent post, Kallie described how a creek runs through their 24-acre property, separating their home from the grandparents' house.
Normally dry, the creek can suddenly fill with water. She shared a video of the family crossing it on horseback, emphasizing that her children had safely traversed the creek many times. However, this time the water was unusually high and strong, sweeping Levi about a mile downstream.
Kallie called 911 instantly, but Levi was found not awake. He was rushed to a local hospital and then flown to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Despite initial hope when Levi shortly woke from a coma, he never recuperated due to serious brain damage, resulting in the decision to remove him from life support.
Clark defended Kallie, stressing that such an accident could happen to any parent. The Wright family has received widespread support, including young rodeo athletes wearing blue in Levi's honor and a benefit auction with hundreds of items.
Throughout Levi's hospitalization, Kallie shared updates on social media, expressing her enduring grief and hoping no one else experiences such a tragedy.
Two Weeks After the Incident, Levi Wright Passed Away
Late last month, Levi was playing at the family's Beaver County, Utah, home when his mother, Kallie Wright, briefly went inside. When she returned, Levi was missing, and his overturned toy tractor was found. She immediately called 911, and Levi was later discovered unconscious in the water a mile away.
Despite some hopeful signs over the past two weeks, Kallie announced on Facebook that they faced their worst fear. She wrote that Levi had given them time to find peace with letting him go. She found comfort in knowing he would be restored to his perfect self.
Along with a video of her and Levi, Kallie stated that after consulting with top neurologists and conducting research, the family believed removing him from life support was the best decision. Mindy Clark, the family friend, expressed her heartbreak over the ordeal but chose to focus on the miracles they witnessed.
The accident occurred on May 21, and emergency responders administered life-saving measures before Levi was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital.
In the days leading up to removing life support, doctors attempted to take Levi out of sedation, but he did not respond well. Tests showed severe brain damage, and Levi was kept comfortable under heavy sedation.
Levi, one of three children of Kallie and Spencer Wright, who is ranked No. 40 in the world in saddle bronc riding, moved mountains in his short life, bringing people together and showing light in a dark time.
