The teaser below, per The Independent is "obviously a joke" but could it be a teaser that Spring could be bringing with it a new book? Does it has something to do with the release date of "The Winds of Winter?"
Despite keeping an official release date for the book, Martin has been teasing fans about the arrival of the highly awaited book. In an earlier report from Parent Herald, Martin wrote on his blog, "And while I will be travelling, my army on minions will be here at the old homestead, toiling in the paper mines."
Fans were quick to speculate that Martin was hinting that the book is already in the publishing house. Moreover, while speaking in a crowd in NYC, the celebrity authors revealed another hint, "And remember, winter is coming."
In a separate report from Parent Herald, Alejo Cuervo, an editor for Ediciones Gigames, who owns the right to publish the book disclosed that "The Winds of Winter" is expected next year. They were already promised about the manuscript in advance.
Also, Michael Jakuszewski, a Polish translator disclosed that he was asked to reserve a time at the end of the year to translate the book. According to Wall Street Journal, Martin wrote on his blog, "I certainly hope that THE WINDS OF WINTER is not on the schedule of ANY of my publishers. I have spent years trying to persuade them all not to schedule my books until they are completed and delivered." Martin believes that rescheduling and postponing piss people off. So, with the said schedules, the book could be available soon.
In earlier interviews, the 67-year-old author has already expressed his inclination to finish the book before the start of the TV series, in fact, he was quoted by Entertainment Weekly saying, "I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish."
Moreover, Martin has admitted that he has cancelled several public appearances to concentrate on the book and get "The Winds of Winter" done.
