After hiding from the public eye for a while, Anna Duggar is now ready to speak up about her husband Josh Duggar's scandal. In a recent promo video for TLC's " Jill & Jessa: Counting On," Anna opens up how the controversies affected her, per Hollywood Life.
The 27-year-old mom of four and the whole Duggar family has been put in hot water since Josh's sexual molestation scandal broke earlier this year, revealing that Jim Bob and Michele Duggar's eldest son sexually molested young girls during his teenage years, including his sisters Jessa and Jill Duggar. But the controversy did not stop there, Josh's name also surfaced as one of the users of the infidelity website Ashley Madison, where he spent almost $1,000 for the site's cheating services, per data obtained by Gawker.
"It was heartbreaking to hear what had happened," said Anna as quoted by Hollywood Life. She was then seen looking down and in the midst of breaking down.
E! Online noted that in May, Anna released a statement to support her husband. In the statement released on the Duggar's website, Anna said that he knew who Josh was, "Someone who had gone down a wrong path and had humbled himself before God and those whom he had offended.”
In the teaser promo, Jessa and Jill were also shown talking about the scandal. "Somebody who you love...how could this happen?" Jessa was seen in the few opening seconds of the video.
"I cried a lot of tears. "My first thoughts were for Anna," said Jill while Jessa concluded, "We're getting through."
Meanwhile, Jim Bob posted a message to dads on the Duggar's website titled "Note to Fathers.” In the post, he offered some parenting advice to raising kids and being the "spiritual leader and coach" of their homes.
Also, Jim Bob shared some tips regarding sexual content in the household. He wrote, "Start protecting your family by removing books, magazines, television, or internet that have worldly or sensual content. Replace them with good things like wholesome music, biographies of great Christians, good old-fashioned family fun and games."
The note, which was posted on Facebook, elicited a lot of hate from the public, tagging him as a "hypocrite," per Enstars. One critic wrote, "Well clearly this all worked out well for the Duggar family. Not. Remove sensual content? How about remove predators from the home? Let's start there.”
Another enraged Facebook commenter said, "Shame on you Jim Bob for continuously trying to keep your family on TLC. You allowed your son to molest [five] girls before you sent him to a bogus rehab"
What do you think of Jim Bob's statements? Will Anna still continue supporting Josh despite the controversy? Share your thoughts below.
