The first "Avatar" film was a blockbuster. It presented the dramatic story of the Navis in their native land Pandora. Since then, fans have been looking forward to "Avatar 2." Now that the film is confirmed, the hype about the anticipated film continues to grow.
There is no doubt that every fan wants to know more about "Avatar 2" while waiting for the film to premiere. Well, you will not be disappointed because another major spoiler leaks.
New reports claimed that another major character will return in "Avatar 2." Parent Herald previously reported that Stephen Lang would be reprising his role as Col. Miles Quaritch in the sequel. In the first film, Neytiri shot him with an arrow on his chests twice. Many, if not all, assumed that he is dead.
However, Director James Cameron announced that Lang would be in "Avatar 2" and in the next two sequels. "Steven was so memorable in the first film, we're privileged to have him back," he said. "I'm not going to say exactly how we're bringing him back, but it's a science fiction story, after all. His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga. I really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who's also become a good friend," Deadline reported.
Aside from Lang, there are speculations that Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) will also return in "Avatar 2." She was a legend to the team because she wrote the comprehensive book on Pandora's plant. She worked with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) on the Avatar Program.
Jake and Dr. Augustine were integrated with the Omaticaya clan and started to appreciate and understand the tribe. Both opted to help the Blue Flute clan, they escaped the Hell's Gate but Col. Quaritch fatally wounded her. Jake brought her human form to Neytiri and Moa't at the Tree of Souls in the hope of reviving her by transferring her consciousness into her avatar form. However, she was rendered too weak and she died at the foot of the Tree of Souls telling Jake that she was with Eywa, the deity of Pandora.
Yes, she was dead but fans who love Weaver's character might see her again in the sequel. According to Movie Pilot, Cameron said: "Who said she died? Nobody dies in a science fiction movie. Whether Grace lives or dies depends more on Sigourney's agent than anything."
