'The Winds of Winter' Release Date: George RR Martin To Change Novel's Plot After The Delay?; Author Assures It Will Not Let Fans Down [Rumors]

George R.R. Martin the famous author of the series of books "The Song Of Ice And Fire," recently invoked the wrath of the his fans following his announcement via a blogpost that the sixth book or installment is not going to be released anytime soon.

The books are widely successful but blew up even more after it was adapted into a television series entitled "Games of Throne." Martin supposedly was due to release the sixth book, "The Winds of Winter" this coming March 2016 before the newest season of "GoT" returns to TV.

Unfortunately, enough Martin couldn't hold up the end-of-year deadline for handing it in to his publishers, pushing the release date of "The Winds of Winter" after "Game of Thrones" airs.

"I still thought I could do it ... but the days and weeks flew by faster than the pile of pages grew, and (as I often do) I grew unhappy with some of the choices I'd made and began to revise," Martin wrote in his blogpost.

Fans are left disappointed with the news but are still rooting for the author to finish it on time. This will cause quite a stir in the TV adaptation of the book since the newest season of "Game of Thrones" will partially be based on the "The Winds of Winter," leaving fans nothing to anticipate.

With this news coming out, several fans speculate that Martin might decide to change the plot of "The Winds of Winter" to give fans something to expect about. Also, other sources claim that the delay could be just a tactic to livify the hype for the much-awaited tome. However, whether these reports are true of not, no one could tell.

Meanwhile, Martin is confident that "The Winds of Winter" is not going to be a let-down for his fans. "Winds of Winter should be pretty good too, when it comes out," he said on his blogpost. "As good as I can make it, anyway ... Enjoy the show. Enjoy the books. Meanwhile, I'll keep writing. Chapter at a time. Page at a time. Word at a time. That's all I know how to do."

The sixth season of Game of Thrones might be the most unpredictable yet.
