It was previously announced that the downloadable content for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will be made available to PS4 two months after the popular video game was released, which is approximately next month. However, it seems like the forthcoming "Awakening" DLC will only be available in three out of five platforms where the game is currently up for grabs.
Videogamer reported that Activision has no plans to release the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" "Awakening" DLC on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. The delay comes to no surprise especially when the game developer previously warned that the individual DLC packs of these two platforms may vary.
"The lack of DLC is the latest in a string of features cut from the last-gen versions of Black Ops 3, joining the game's campaign and the series' traditional 60fps frame rate," the tech news outlet stated in its report. "Nuketown 2065, one of the game's pre-order bonuses, was also only available in the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game."
The "Awakening" DLC is said to come with four brand new maps which include Rise, Splash, Gauntlet and Skyjacked. Also, a brand new chapter in Zombies mode of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is a part of the pack.
IDigitalTimes reported that it was last month when Activision and Treyarch announced "Awakening," which is the first of the four planned DLC packs for "Black Ops 3." The tech news website suggested that players using "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" in older consoles will also be disappointed with this report.
"The last-gen versions of Black Ops 3 already shipped without a campaign," IDigitalTimes shared. "But now we have to wonder whether those who purchased the older version will ever have anything to break up the repetition of Black Ops 3's default map rotations."
The "Awakening" DLC will be available on PS4 first on Feb. 2, 2016. Xbox One and PC users will get to enjoy the newest map pack 30 days later.
