Thousands of fans of the series are excited for the release date of Sherlock Season 4 with the surrounding rumors of the third Holmes brother to be played by Tom Hiddleston famous for his role as Loki in the movie "Thor."
It was clearly stated in the last episode of Sherlock Season 3 that the Holmes brothers have "the other one" which seemed to be another sibling.
According to Latin Times, during an interview with Benedict Cumberbatch, he somewhat gave a hint to the fans that they will see more of Sherlock's family background in the upcoming season.
"You find out about Sherlock's background. You find out that he comes from a truly stab family," he said.
Sherlock is known in releasing new season every two years with just three to four "full length movie" types of episodes because of its casts' busy schedule.
Nonetheless, it is confirmed that Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will be returning together with Amanda Abbington as Mary Watson, Jonathan Aris as Anderson and Louise Brealey as Molly Hooper.
According to Mark Gatiss, co-producer of "Sherlock," the recently-released Holiday Special episode in a Victorian Era entitled "The Abominable Bride," has no connection and has nothing to do with the storyline of the Season 4.
"We wouldn't have done the story we're doing, and the way we're doing it, if we didn't have this special. It's not part of the run of three episodes."
In an interview of Steven Moffat with Entertainment Weekly, he mentioned that this upcoming season will be way more different than the previous ones. He said that the episodes will be darker in certain ways, more exhilarating and will deal with a lot of consequences that will make the fans desperate for Season 5.
"Sherlock" viewers and fans will now have to start playing the waiting game as usual as Season 4 is reportedly not expected to air until January 2017.
