Danny Dyer's mother, Christine Dyer used the social media platform to correct his son -- following his conception joke at the National Television Award 2016. After the initial message, the amused mom then posted another tweet to reiterate that her son got the dates wrong.
Danny appeared on stage at the NTA on Wednesday, Jan. 20 to accept the award for the Best Serial Drama Performance. During his acceptance speech, the 38-year-old actor took the time to thank all the people who supported him, including his parents.
"I want to thank my mum and dad for having a roll about in 1977 and conceiving me," the award-winning actor quipped in front of the crowd.
After his amusing comments, his mother, Christine quickly took to Twitter to respond to her son and to correct him for the wrong dates. "That particular roll around was in 1976 to be precise," she tweeted. "So proud of him."
And to remind Danny about his inaccuracy, she posted another message saying, "Mummy is proud and the roll around in question was actually 1976! Love you xxx."
The EastEnders star won the Serial Drama category for the second year -- playing the Mick Carter character on the BBC soap. Danny triumphed over EastEnders co-star Rakhee, Emmerdale's Michael Parr and Alison King from Coronation Street.
Later that night, the fulfilled actor posted a snap on Twitter. "Yessssssss. Thank you so much. Everyone who voted for me," he captioned accompanied with a photo, showing him kissing the trophy. "You know who you are. I love you all," he added.
More so, the social media platform was flooded with messages from Danny's families and fans. Some congratulate him for beating the other talented actors and for bringing home the award while others praised him for his acceptance speech.
The star-studded event took place at The O2 in London.
