"POI" Season 5 will premiere this spring, CBS entertainment president Glenn Geller announced during the Television Critics Association (TCA), according to Entertainment Weekly. This statement reassured fans and viewers who have been worrying for months about the show's future on the network.
"We ordered 13 episodes, we hope to get them on this spring," Geller said.
Geller also addressed ongoing rumors that "Person of Interest" Season 5 will mark the show's finale on TV.
"No, we haven't aired the show yet. I'm not sure," he told the reporters during the said event.
While Geller seemed optimistic about the show's future on TV, series writers and even the cast were already preparing for the show's finale.
The finale of "POI" Season 5 was reportedly created with the thought of it functioning as season finale and as a series ender.
Meanwhile, in an earlier interview with the cast of "Person of Interest" during the Comic-Con, Amy Acker teased fans that there will be more Root and Shaw (Sarah Shahi) romance this season, Yahoo! TV reported.
Root, however, will continue to struggle with choosing between Shaw and the Machine.
"That's been a struggle because they are both priorities to her," Acker said. "At the end of last year, she ultimately had to decide that if she didn't do everything to save the Machine, there's no purpose to saving Shaw."
Acker remained optimistic that if the show was indeed on its last season, there will be a happily ever after for Root and Shaw. Acker shared that she hopes to see Root, the Machine and Shaw live together with Bear and twins.
