"The Vampire Diaries" series creator Julie Plec recently expressed her desire to see Nina Dobrev back on The CW series, which raised the hopes of fans to see Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder back together. Following this rumored reunion between the former couple, Nikki Reed has allegedly experienced a meltdown.
Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are one of the most sought-after couples (on and off screens) in Hollywood. While the couple has already split and moved on with their new partners, several fans still hoped that they would be back together in front of the cameras.
The tweet "We Miss Damon and Elena" became a trending topic on Twitter, especially after "TVD" series creator Julie Plec revealed that she would love to see Dobrev back on the show.
"Yes, I miss her deeply and would take her back in an instant if she called and said, 'Hey, can I come back and play?'" she told Variety.
Dobrev departed from "The Vampire Diaries" after Season 6, but her character, Elena Gilbert was not killed off from the show, which opened a door of opportunity for the actress to return in the future.
Plec, however, expressed that Dobrev's departure was met with a couple of challenges, but it felt refreshing on a creative level.
"It just feels good to be able to tell the story about two brothers who are more bonded, and as such, at odds more than ever before, and you're writing this terrific relationship piece now about these two guys, and it's just been so fun to write this year," she added.
Meanwhile, this rumored reunion between Somerhalder and Dobrev has allegedly affected the Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed.
According to Gossip Cop, a report claimed that Reed experienced a "meltdown" after hearing about the fans' plea to see Somerhalder and Dobrev back together.
"Reed is a hot, jealous mess when it comes to her husband Ian Somerhalder and his ex Nina Dobrev," the report said.
However, the publication refuted the rumors and reported that Reed is neither jealous nor having a meltdown over the rumored reunion between Dobrev and Somerhalder.
