Netflix has not yet made an official announcement as to when "Sense8" Season 2 will premiere on TV. Several fans, however, believed that the sophomore season of the sci-fi drama will premiere in Aug. 2016 because of the significance of that date.
In an earlier report from Netflix Life, it has been noted that most of the shows of the giant streaming service premiere at around the same time as its first season. "Sense8" aired its first season on TV on June 5, 2015.
However, given the fact that the cast and crew of the show have not yet started filming, it makes sense to see "Sense8" Season 2 premiere in the summer or fall of 2016.
Meanwhile, screenwriter J. Michael Straczynski, the brainchild behind the sci-fi drama along with Lana and Andy Wachowski, shared with Comic Book Resources his plans for "Sense8" Season 2.
According to Straczynski, he and the Wachowskis are planning to expand the "Sense8" universe and they might even introduce other clusters in the upcoming season.
"What's kind of fun about the characters is that what they're sharing are not necessarily [powered] - like, in other concepts, which might be superpowers, flight," he said. They have ordinary abilities, and we're trying to say that there is value and merit and power in [that]."
Straczynski also admitted that Season 1 was more like the show's origin story while Season 2 will be have its own story arc. He also revealed that he and the Wachowskis are "long game kind of people," so they pretty much have things wrapped up for Season 2.
