'Prison Break' Air Date, News & Update: Revival To Shoot In Vancouver; Why Sara Tancredi Might Not Be Back

The cameras will soon roll for the revival of "Prison Break" in Vancouver, Canada. However, it's still unclear whether the character of Sarah Tancredi could return in the limited episode offering.

Vancity Buzz reported that filming for the reboot of "Prison Break" is going to take in place in Vancouver, which makes it convenient for its returning lead stars, Dominic Purcelland Wentworth Miller. The two are already based in the city and have been working on the set of another show since last year. They are in the cast of the superhero series "The Legends Of Tomorrow" on The CW.

With "Legends" likely to get a renewal on its network, scheduling for the actors on these two shows would be more manageable. Purcell and Miller's casting on "Prison Break" was confirmed when Fox revealed in early January that it was pushing forward with the prison drama's return, Variety reported. The plot to the reboot will follow "several years" after the show originally ended. It will hopefully answer a lot of questions, including how Miller's character, Michael Scofield, lived despite being killed off the show in its last run.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear how "Prison Break" will bring back the character of Dr. Sara Tancredi, who is played by actress Sarah Wayne Callies. Digital Spy reported that she is still in negotiations with production, but her commitment on another TV show, "Colony," is making scheduling difficult. TV Line reported that "Colony" was renewed for a second season on the USA Network. The show is filming on location in Chatsworth, California, per Onset Hollywood.

"There are people yelling at each other on telephones right now in LA - and hopefully they work it out, because I very much want to be part of it," said Wayne Callies.

"Prison Break" aired for four seasons from 2005 to 2009 on Fox. Reviving the series was first brought up in the summer of 2015, TV Line also reported.
