A pawnshop shooting in Danville has resulted to the death of three people, according to the Examiner.
Authorities are currently investigating a possible robbery, which took place at the ABC Gold in Danville, Kentucky on Friday morning. According to SFGate, the two owners and a customer were shot to death.
"The shooting victims were pawn shop owners Michael and Angela Hockensmith, Boyle County Coroner Don Hamner told the Lexington Herald-Leader. Hamner said the third victim was a man from Richmond." The identity of the Danville pawn shop shooting third victim was not released because of the family had not yet been notified.
The Danville pawn shop shooting also caused a nearby college to be put on lockdown and police asked that residents stay clear of downtown. A suspect wearing a hoodie was seen leaving the scene on a bike. The lockdown was lifted by noon.
When police arrived the store was locked and they had to break in. In addition to the shooting victims, a 9-year-old child and an 18-month-old were found inside unharmed. Apparently the 9-year-old called police after his parents were shot to death in the store at 9 a.m. Friday. The crime scene is being investigated and a good description of the shooter is not yet available.
Gray said officials are looking for a 40- to 50-year-old heavy-set white man wearing a green camouflage-type jacket. The man apparently exited through a garage door in the back and went through the alley between the pawn shop and another business, Gray said. Anyone who saw anything was asked to call Danville police. The store was locked when police arrived and officers had to break in. When they got inside they saw three bodies and the two children.
