Will Smith reacted to the three-minute Oscars monologue of Chris Rock where he and wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, were literally slammed.
The 47-year-old actor who boycotted the 88th Academy Awards night was seen in New York, filming his latest movie, "Collateral Beauty." Many were expecting that Smith would give some icy retort to the zingers that Rock sent their way, but the ever cool and classy Smith simply waved at the camera and flashed a big smile.
E! Online reported that he was all cool and chillin' and even waved the peace sign to the nosy paparazzi. Looking at Smith, it seems that he doesn't really care much about Rock's little Oscars monologue. Should he care?
The only way is to decipher what Rock said during his monologue to see whether Smith should give the press any kind of statement. Daily Mail reported that Rock made several references to Smith and his wife.
Rock said in his monologue, "What happened this year? People went nuts. Spike [Lee] got mad. Jada went mad. Will went mad. Everyone went mad!" He didn't stop here though, he went further saying, "Jada said she's not coming. I was like, 'Isn't she on TV show?' Jada's gonna boycott the Oscars? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties. I wasn't invited!"
As for Will in particular, Rock had this to say, "It's not fair that Will was this good and didn't get nominated. You're right." He then added, "It's also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West!"
So whether Will Smith should break his silence and start giving the paparazzi any reaction to what Chris Rock said, or stay cool and mum about it, that would be entirely up to him. But for sure, Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith, will never forget Chris Rock's 2016 Oscars monologue. Peace to all!
