Gordon Ramsay and his juniors failed to succeed in making the world's biggest cupcake, according to Softpedia.
Celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton notes that one of the things Chef Gordon Ramsay wanted to achieve with the Juniors was to set a new world record for the biggest cupcake, which, at 3,000 pounds (1,360.7 kg) would have gotten them into the Guinness Book of World Records.
They also wanted to do that without rehearsals, in front of a live audience but, as is the case with many live shows, things didn't go as planned. "It collapsed in on itself. Three thousand pounds, that's a heavyweight. These attempts, sometimes people practice and then fake it. We went for it, and we were open and honest about it. Go big or go home, at the end of the day," Ramsay said after the show.
So, instead of making the world's biggest cupcake, they decided to go for a different record: the world's smallest, which was achieved with much less difficulty. More importantly, though, it also taught the kids a lesson.
"Big is not always best they got to take away the discipline. I think they can apply that discipline to other areas of their lives. You know what it's like, kids falling off the rails, getting into different areas they shouldn't go," Ramsay said. MasterChef Junior premiered on FOX with the most talented teenage cooks in the United States today.
