You Won't Believe How This Safety Pin Got Stuck in 5-Year-Old Girl's Nose for 6 Months; Mom Said 'It Was Bigger than Her Nose'

"Keep away from the reach of children." This may be a common warning but oftentimes unheeded by parents, which is why perhaps, five-year-old Khloe Russell ended up having a safety pin stuck way up in her nose for six months.

As recounted by her mom Katelyn Powell, Khloe started having a runny nose but only on one side. It left them wondering about the cause, as her nose's running unstoppable on that particular side. According to Katelyn, as reported by Yahoo News, "Green, green, green constantly and it stunk."

Katelyn took Khloe to a doctor. She was prescribed with antibiotics for a sinus infection. But the antibiotics didn't stop the running.

Still, Katelyn didn't give up, and so she took Khloe to a dentist in the hopes of finding the source of the snot. But a scope up on her nostril also didn't reveal a single thing!

Fortunately, good ol' uncle was on the rescue. According to Buzzfeed, the brother of Katelyn told Khloe to blow her nose. His words of encouragement that worked like magic were, "Your nose, it's disgusting. Blow your nose, blow your nose."

At that moment, when Khloe blew her nose, an ugly-looking corroded safety pin popped out! And this was right before the very eyes of the horrified Katelyn and uncle.

Katelyn said, "It was a huge object. It was bigger than her nose. We were horrified. I was like, 'Did you put this up there?' She did, but she forgot to tell me." The mom said that when Katelyn was building a castle, the little girl lodged the pin into her nostril "just to see how far it would go up."

Although Katelyn didn't want a safety pin end up inside her daughter's nose, she said that she received hate mail, which calls her as a horrible parent. She said, "I hope people can understand that this can happen to their children and that it doesn't make their children stupid for doing it or not saying anything after."

But just like any five-year-old kid who underwent a what seemed to be a horrifying experience, Khloe is now okay. Looking at the five-year-old, you won't imagine a safety pin stuck in her nose for six months!
