The Best Alternative To Solve Your Pet's Itch Problems, It's Better Than Giving Them Shots!

There is now a better way to treat pets with skin allergy and this one won't require your furry little animal to get any shots at all. It is called the Sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT), a new alternative, according to experts, when it comes to taking care of your pet's skin allergy issues.

Household pets are prone to skin allergies, which is why it is advised that pet owners give their animals allergy shots. This would prevent and even treat their pet dog or cat if they have any type of skin allergy. In an article published by The Huffington Post, SLIT is now considered as the best way to treat pets from skin allergies and it is given orally.

But what exactly is their difference aside from the manner on how the medicine enters the animal's body? The truth is that they don't have much difference, which includes their dosage concentration known to increase over time. When it comes to the price, they are also almost the same. Pets who are under medication won't be affected by the medicine provided by this alternative.

SLIT is more convenient for pets to take in the treatment, especially when they are sensitive with their skin or they aren't exactly friendly when a needle is involved to inject into their fragile little body. Since SLIT is taken orally, the medicine goes directly to the tissues underneath the tongue and other areas surrounding it. This means that the effect of the treatment is also just as fast when pets are given shots.

In case you are wondering if this is even really effective for your pets, a study made by the researchers at the University of Wisconsin showed that SLIT could result to about 80% of clinical benefits to your pets. An increase and decrease of doses should just be observed for specific allergens on pets.
