Dozens of Brazilian spiders were spotted in bananas in the UK, according to Click Orlando.
A mother from the UK was the first person to report seeing dozens of deadly spiders in a banana she was eating in her London home. Consi Taylor recounted seeing a white spot on her banana which she easily assumed to be molds. However, she later on found out that these white spots were actually Brazilian spiders.
"They were hatching out on the table, scurrying around on my carpet," she said. Taylor returned the bananas to Sainsbury's supermarket where she purchased them and was just given a voucher. However, due to the toxicity of the spiders, exterminators told Taylor to immediately leave her home and confirmed that the spiders she found were indeed the deadliest kind of spiders in the world.
Taylor and her husband Richard were forced to spend three nights in a hotel with their two children while their house was fumigated and kept clean by experts, according to the Daily Mail. "I screamed, it was horrible,' she said. 'I'm scared of spiders anyway so I had to get a friend to come round to hoover them up. Then we cleaned the floor with anti-bacterial wipes."
Mrs. Taylor also confirmed that her son refused to eat a share of the bananas she purchased after she offered him some. Brazilian spiders have been confirmed by the Guinness World Records as the most toxic spider on earth. Its venom is 30 more times powerful than that of a rattlesnake. "We do have rigorous controls on imported products at all stages - from harvesting to transportation - which is why this is so rare", according to a store spokesperson. A source at the chain insisted the creatures are unlikely to survive in Britain either inside or outside, because they need warmth and humidity.
