"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" is based on the novel written by Ransom Riggs. The New York Times Best Seller tells the strange but adventurous story of Jacob Portman, played by Asa Butterfield.

Movie Web reported that "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" will start in the numerous nightmares of Jacob followed by the death of his grandfather. Jacob then wanted to fly overseas to discover the real story behind the institution where his grandfather grew up.

Upon Jacob's arrival, he finds out that the secret safe haven cradles kids that have different super powers as governed by the magical nanny, Miss Peregrine. The role of Miss Peregrine will be played by Eva Green, per MTV. Tim Burton describes Eva Green's character as a "scary Mary Poppins." In the movie and in the book, Miss Peregrine has the ability to change into a bird.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jacob will also meet Emma, the role of Ella Purnell. Emma and Jacob will develop a romance, which will also be "peculiar" as she already had a special relationship with his grandfather.
