Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, also known as the wife of Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, revealed on March 8 that despite being privileged to live a glamorous life, her life is very much focus on her family that she even breastfeeds her 2-year-old boy. Lots of people were surprised of her character being down to earth after that interview.
Canada's first lady shared what it is like to live like her being the wife of their country's Prime Minister. In an article published by Yahoo, they cited Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau's interview with Katie Couric saying, "My daily life is mostly spent with my three kids and raising them."
Meanwhile, The Huffington Post also cited the first lady's stand on breastfeeding his toddler, Hadrien. "I think that it's a woman's choice," Mrs. Trudeau said. "I breastfed my three babies. I also gave them formula. I don't judge what your decision is."
Sophie Trudeau also said that before she decided to go for breastfeeding, she did a lot of research first on the said act and what are the things that it would do to both her health and her child. After going through some medical benefits of breastfeeding, Trudeau finally jumped to it and never regretted a day applying it to all her kids.
"There are the scientific facts that prove that breast milk is amazing," Sophie Trudeau continued. "So if I can continue to feed my child, even if he's 2, I'm not going to stop if he wants it."
The mother of three doesn't want to force her feeding style to other mothers. Trudeau simply wanted to share how breastfeeding works for her and it might be something that other moms could also check on because they too might like it.
"I think it's a beautiful bond, and I encourage it, but like I said, I don't judge," Sophie added. "And I also gave formula to my kids, so come on. Find your own balance."
