Hillary Clinton versus Donald Trump in the Republican-Democrat face off in the U.S. presidential race may have seemed like a certainty for a while, but challenger Bernie Sanders refuses to quit the fight. In fact, Bernie Sanders has been making a statement, saying that the George Clooney dinner-fundraiser by Hillary Clinton and her team should be frowned upon.
Independent reports that Bernie Sanders called attention to the $353,400-fundraising dinner ticket, which is being sold to support Hillary Clinton and her campaign. George Clooney and his wife Amal are the main attraction to get support for Hillary Clinton and her campaign with the purchase of the ticket. For a quarter of a million dollars, the proud owner(s) of the dinner ticket will get to sit with Amal and George Clooney as well as with Hillary Clinton at a dinner in April.
Tickets are also being sold at $33,400 per person for an evening's access to the home of Amal and George Clooney, which is also a part of the fundraising activities for Hillary Clinton and her campaign. The open house event takes place the evening after the $353,400-a-ticket fundraising dinner. According to Bernie Sanders, such tactics and activities concerning funding for Hillary Clinton are ripe with obscenity, corruption and an unnatural effect in the political process. More than a few are nodding with Bernie Sanders on this.
CNN, however, reports that despite a big show in finances by Hillary Clinton, her Democrat rival Bernie Sanders is far from done with the race. The victory counts for Bernie Sanders both from overseas and Stateside are giving Hillary Clinton a run for her money. Bernie Sanders is not the roadkill that Hillary Clinton and her supporters expected. With his recent win in Washington, Hawaii and Alaska Bernie Sanders' supporters are continually engaged and inspired.
The media agency, however, points out that the stiff competition that Bernie Sanders is providing Hillary Clinton can only be good for her. Provided that Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic Party race, her run against Donald Trump could only have been given more backbone by Bernie Sanders. All eyes are reportedly on the April 19 primary in New York as the outcome may still lead toward a face off between Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump rather than between Hillary Clinton and The Donald.
