The finale of "Supergirl" Season 1 takes place April 18 and details have emerged about what fans can expect. Despite what promises to be an explosive episode, it doesn't seem like Jimmy and Kara's romance will turn up the heat. What's going to happen in the finale, "Better Angels"?
Super Hero Hype reports that CBS released photos for the "Supergirl" Season 1 finale. The episode's description states that the young female superhero will be facing with an "unexpected foe" and endanger her own life. She will also confront Non (Chris Vance) and Indigo (Laura Vandervoort) in a battle to prevent the villains from destroying the world. Non and Indigo will trigger events leading to the finale in the penultimate episode, "Myriad," which will air April 11.
After "Supergirl's" most recent airing, Non is revealed to have overtaken control of National City via mind control but Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is the only one unaffected. However, there is a twist. "She has a couple of surprising players that you wouldn't expect to be the two people completely unaffected by Myriad to help her," said executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, via Entertainment Weekly.
Jimmy and Kara to fall in love on "Supergirl"?
Meanwhile, the new photos suggest Jimmy might finally make a move on Kara and tell her about his real feelings. But Mehcad Brooks, who plays Jimmy, hinted this romance might take a while to unfold because his character was brought to the show for a different purpose. "If Superman asked you to go check in on his cousin, you can't just go hitting on Superman's cousin, because you start getting hit on by Superman - and that's not a good thing," he told the panel at the New York Comic-con last year, per Polygon.
What's next after "Supergirl" Season 1?
The show has yet to receive a renewal from CBS, but when it does return for "Season 2," Supergirl will have another goal to unravel. The foundation for the Project Cadmus has been laid out and this is what will be explored next. "Cadmus has such a rich history in the comics and the animated shows. There's so much there to mine. It'll definitely be part of season 2," said Kreisberg in another Entertainment Weekly report.
