Many fans were waiting for news regarding "Steven Universe" Season 2 return date, but it turns out the CN series' latest episode was already its last for the season. EW reports that the show will be premiering Season 3 when it returns on TV.

"Steven Universe" Season 3 will premiere in June and new episodes are expected to be aired every week until the end of August. This will mark the end of the show's third season on TV, but fans should be reassured that the show will continue for more seasons, as the network also announced that the series has been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5.

Meanwhile, the "Steven Universe" Season 3 update came as a surprise to fans and viewers. Movie Pilot states that writer Matt Burnett reassured fans that the change in the number of episodes will not affect the show in any way.

"FYI, Season 1 was 52 episodes, all other seasons are 26 episodes. I don't know why the change, but it didn't affect how we made the show," he said.

The network may have changed the title for the said episode after prospective episode titles were leaked online, including clips of Stevenmelons and the return of Malachite was released on the Internet.
