'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Casting And Spoilers Update: Darth Vader To Appear In Spinoff Movie?

The last time we saw Darth Vader on the big screen was in the 2005 movie "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith." Are we going to see one of the greatest villains of all-time appear in the spinoff movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"?

Flickering Myth reports that Darth Vader is indeed appearing in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." However, Hayden Christensen will not reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader in the "Star Wars" spinoff movie.

Flickering Myth claims that the six-foot-seven British actor, Spencer Wildling, has been cast in the role of Darth Vader in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." "However he will likely be dubbed by James Earl Jones just as David Prowse was when he played Vader in the Original Trilogy," Flickering Myth noted.

Spencer Wildling had small roles in big movies such as "Batman Begins," "Wrath of the Titans" and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. He also had a brief but memorable role in "Guardians of the Galaxy" as the alien prison guard who forcefully took a music player from Chris Pratt's character Star-Lord, Headlines and Global News reports.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is a spinoff movie that takes place after "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith" (starring Hayden Christensen, Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor) and right before "Star Wars: A New Hope" (starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher), which makes Darth Vader's appearance plausible. The "Star Wars" spinoff movie, directed by Gareth Edwards, will be released in December 2016 and stars Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed, according to Star Wars.com.
