There is a lot of hype for DC and Warner Brothers' "Suicide Squad." Many fans are excited for Will Smith's Deadshot character, the character interactions and the gritty action that director David Ayer is known for. However, most fans would agree that it is Margot Robbie's turn as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto's performance as The Joker that are the real highlights of the trailers released so far.
When the trailer was released, many fans began praising Robbie's quirky and wild performance as well as Leto's haunting performance. The Washington Post notes that Harley Quinn might become another pop culture icon, the same way Robert Downey's Iron Man or Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool have become over the recent years.
"Just as Ben and Gal were the breakaway stars regardless of the audience reaction to 'B v S,' I think Margot's Harley Quinn is the star of this next step in the DC Cinematic universe," The Washington Post explains. This is the first time that the character will appear in the movie screen.
Another aspect that has caught the eye of many fans in the new "Suicide Squad" trailer is Batman's brief but intense appearance. Many fans are excited how the movie will deal with The Joker's connection with the supposed death of Batman's sidekick, Robin.
"Suicide Squad," directed by David Ayer, will be released on August 5, according to Vox. Aside from Robbie as Harley Quinn and Leto as The Joker, the movie also stars Will Smith as Deadshot and Cara Delevingne as The Enchantress. Ben Affleck will also make an appearance as Batman.
