"High School Musical 4" has called for an open casting and anyone between ages 14 to 17 can submit their auditions to the Disney Channel beginning Monday, April 18. In line with picking who should star in the musical TV show, fans hope the studio will consider Bailee Madison, who has already worked with Disney in previous projects.
Disney Channel posted the audition details to "High School Musical 4" on its website, where interested talents are asked to download a script so that they can begin rehearsing. They must also download an app from which they should submit their videos. The deadline for this is set on May 2.
Deadline reports that the audition process is not a contest. While casting calls at Disney don't require fees, interested young talents should secure permission from their parents. The studio will be looking for five key players to "High School Musical 4" and the character details were announced in March, Parent Herald previously reported.
Meanwhile, fans are pushing "Good Witch" young star Bailee Madison in the lead role and have launched a petition to make this happen. While happy for the support, the actress said that she has yet to make official deals with Disney. Just Jared reports that #Bailee4HSM4 trended on Twitter, thanks to her fans' efforts.
The actress proved she might just be right for the lead role when she posted videos where she's singing songs from "High School Musical" with Aidan Alexander. The 16-year-old has always professed to her followers that she's a huge fan of the show and knows a lot of the songs by heart.
Madison's chances are further boosted by the fact that she's already a Disney actress. She's part of "Once Upon A Time" on ABC, a Disney-owned network, and she used to star in "Wizards of Waverly Place" that aired on the Disney Channel.
"High School Musical 4" will have Jeffrey Hornaday as the choreographer and director. Dan Berendsen and Peter Barsocchini are attached to write the script. Its air date hasn't been announced so far.
