Lindsay Lohan Exploring Islam? 'Mean Girls' Star Reading The Quran, Admits To Studying Muslim Religion

Islam is usually a hot topic, but interest from "Mean Girls" actress Lindsay Lohan is generating added attention to the Muslim religion recently. Lindsay Lohan, who had been seen with a Quran in hand, reportedly has been reading the Muslim book for some time now prompting people to gauge her interest in Islam.

Page Six reports that Lindsay Lohan was first associated with Islam when the "Parent Trap" actress was seen in New York holding a Quran. At that time Lindsay Lohan was fulfilling her community service. The source of the 'Freaky Friday" actress' interest in Islam is being sussed out even calling to question boyfriend Egor Tarabasov's religious beliefs.

According to The Sun, whatever caused the interest in Islam, Lindsay Lohan seems to be turning her life around by focusing on her spiritual side. Lindsay Lohan admits to getting help in dealing with difficult situations from spiritual learning. Referring to her publicized interest in Islam, Lindsay Lohan says that America's depiction of someone seen with a Quran is different from reality.

While Lindsay Lohan says she has yet to read through the whole Quran, fans and followers wonder if the reformed actress would actually convert to Islam. The Sun points out that if Lindsay Lohan does turn to Islam, she will be in the company of other A-listers as Janet Jackson, Mike Tyson, Cat Stevens, Jemima Khan and Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali).

Other notable personalities who converted to Islam are French rapper Diam, Jermaine Jackson, LA Lakers' Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Dave Chapelle. Lewis Arquette, British journalist Yvonne Ridley, Malcolm X and Tony Blair's sister-in-law Lauren Booth are also converts to Islam.
