"Warcraft," the live action adaptation by Legendary Pictures of the hit Blizzard franchise, will be directed by David Bowie's son Duncan Jones. According to Duncan Jones, "Warcraft" will follow heroes from both sides after the orcs' Frost Wolf Clan chief bridges Draenor with the humans' Azeroth.
Polygon reports that Duncan Jones will keep"Warcraft" true to its original essence of showcasing both sides of the story. Instead of a simplistic approach with heroes versus villains, Duncan Jones says that the "Warcraft" film will follow two veins. "Warcraft" will make sure that both human and orc perspectives will be explored.
"What Blizzard has always done well is draw from things that we feel like we know very well, whether J.R.R. Tolkein, Marvel Comics or 'Star Wars,' and synthesize those and turn them into something new," Duncan Jones said. "Warcraft will introduce the idea of heroes on all sides. It's two different perspectives on a conflict and a war that's unavoidable."
According to LazyGamer, Duncan Jones revealed that the orcs language in the "Warcraft" film will combine the handiwork of "Game Of Thrones" linguistics experts and terms from the "World of WarCraft" glossary. Duncan Jones said that finding out that the experts they approached in the process are "Warcraft" fans is a handy coincidence.
This is not only true for the consulting experts but also for the "Warcraft" actors themselves. Robert Kazinsky, who stars as Ogrim, pointed out that the "Warcraft" film represents the story as it should be relayed. Robert Kazinsky revealed that more than a few in the cast are gamers and appreciate the joy of bringing "Warcraft" to big screen.
"Warcraft" will have "Vikings" star Travis Fimmel, "Mission Impossible" actress Paula Patton and "3:10 to Yuma" actor Ben Foster in key roles. "Warcraft" is scheduled for theater release on June 10.
