Robin Thicke and Paula Patton's eight-year marriage recently ended in a mutual split, according to reports.
The R&B singer and the actress met and began dating as teenagers, tying the knot in in 2005. They have one son together - Julian Fuego, who is turning four this coming April.
"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the couple said in a joint statement released to the media.
Last year, the two dismissed rumors that their marriage was on the rocks. Thicke told Prestige Hong Kong magazine last September that he was not sure if he would still be alive if it weren't for his wife.
"She's been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her. The whole way," he said.
The two appeared together on the Grammy's red carpet in January. As of late, Thicke has been busy with his national concert tour while Patton was most recently featured in the film "About Last Night."
Thicke, 36, said in the same interview: "We're pretty sure we've loved each other for a few lives."
Paula, 38, added: "We're best friends. We laugh a lot. But that's our down time. We do things we're supposed to do, like work out - blah, blah, blah, boring, boring. We love to travel together and travel with our child."
Speculations circulated that there might be trouble in paradise after Thicke's twerking performance at the VMAs with Miley Cyrus. Shortly after, a picture of him appearing to grope a woman circulated online, according to Metro.
